Arboga Weather from 1949-2006 The average rain fall is 17.63inches  Max Rain recorded was 33.44inches in 1983.  The  dryest year was in 1976 when we only had 6.25 inches of rain.  So far in 2008 we have received 11.234 inches.

A La Niña weather pattern, characterized by cold temperatures in the Pacific Ocean near the equator, affected the weather last winter and spring. Precipitation in the northern Sierra was 70 percent of average. That pattern has dissipated, But there aren’t many clues yet how the weather will shape up this year.  The Pacific Ocean off the coast of Californina hit a 20 year low in 2008.  This is creating a cold front off the coast of California that prevents the low pressure systems with all the rain from coming through here.

“The general consensus (is) the start of the winter (will) be dry, or at most normal,”

There aren’t many forecasts for January and beyond available yet. But one source, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, has forecast equal chances of greater or less than normal precipitation throughout the winter for Northern California.
